Born in 1992 in Metz, France. She lives and works in Paris, France.
From Cameroonian parents, Josèfa Ntjam studied at the ENSAD in Amiens (France), at the IAC of the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (Senegal) and is a graduate of the ENSA in Bourges (France) and Paris-Cergy (France).
She exhibited her work at the Center d’Art Contemporain in La Chapelle Saint-Jacques (France), then during the exhibition of the Futurs Anteriors collective, Fantôme-s Résistante-s, (Paris) as well as in the Black(s) to the Future, (Paris).
Josèfa Ntjam questions the methods of production of History and the way in which they influence the imagination. Between ethno-museographic fictions and Utopian writings, Joséfa Ntjam’s researches reveal singular spaces and narratives. With her performative video, Le Griot du Futur, she imagines the journey of a character with an initiatory mission, destined for an over-connected youth.
