Patsheli Kahambo Kitenge
Born in 1990 in Kinshasa, Congo. He lives and works in Kinshasa.
Patsheli Kahambo Kitenge is a graduate of the Kinshasa Academy of Fine Arts. He is also an active member of the Zayi Kia collective, which promotes contemporary Congolese artistic practices. In 2015, he exhibited at the French institute in Kinshasa and was invited to international contemporary art meetings in Brazzaville (Congo).
In 2016, he participated in the exhibition Congo-Cameroon, aesthetics shared beyond geography at the Biennale of Dakar.
Symbolist painter, Patsheli lives through his paintings of signs that refer to the universe of cabaret and games as many clues of a virulent social criticism. In rich compositions with Pop accents, the artist mixes characters, dice, tokens, cards and figures and questions the European domination and the violence of migrations.
